Frequently Asked Questions

The Concrete Testing Adherence Collaboration (CTAC) program was developed in Colorado to minimize/eliminate the effects of false negative/positive concrete tests on producers, and the concrete construction industry. The CTAC program involves a continuous improvement cycle, and the outcome evaluates field concrete testing technicians on an individual basis to determine appropriate actions for training, resolutions, and to increase consistency with ASTM Standards.

What Is Type IL (also known as PLC) cement?

It is a sustainable and durable cement containing 5 to 15% limestone.  It has about 10% lower greenhouse gas emmissions.  Type IL cement is accepted by all 50 state DOT's, ACI codes, and specifications from the ICC, FAA, and AIA.  (from PCA)

The cement and concrete industry are committed to carbon neutrality by 2050.  This is one of the ways the cement industry is working toward that goal.
